HindSight Cloud-Native Recorder Receives AWS FTR Validation, Launches on AWS Marketplace

Exacom, a leader in mission-critical multimedia logging recorder technology, today announced that its HindSight Cloud solution has passed the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Foundational Technical Review (FTR) and that Exacom is now an AWS Partner Network (APN) member. HindSight Cloud is a fully cloud-native recording platform built on AWS, designed to deliver superior availability, CJIS-compliant security, and seamless scaling to support fluctuating call and radio traffic volumes.
By earning AWS FTR approval, HindSight Cloud’s overall architecture—including containerized services, managed databases, and encrypted storage—has been validated against AWS best practices for security, reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. In practical terms, this means that components of HindSight Cloud run within the secure AWS infrastructure: compute resources automatically scale to handle spikes in incoming media; application updates can be rolled out without downtime; and all recordings and metadata are stored in encrypted, highly durable services. Strict access controls ensure that only authorized users and services can access sensitive data.
Rather than simply moving an on-premises server into a virtual machine, HindSight Cloud leverages native AWS features—such as managed container orchestration and serverless functions for specific processing tasks—to provide a resilient, hands-off environment. This approach eliminates many routine maintenance tasks (security patching, hardware upgrades, capacity planning) that come with traditional deployments. When call volume rises, underlying AWS services automatically add resources; when demand falls, unused capacity is released. At every step, AWS-provided monitoring and alerting give Exacom real-time insight into system health and performance.
HindSight Cloud is now available in AWS Marketplace as an AWS-validated, cloud-native recording solution. Once an agency procures HindSight Cloud, a dedicated tenant is created within Exacom’s AWS environment—complete with all necessary infrastructure, backups, and disaster recovery configurations—so that agencies can begin using a fully managed recording platform without needing to build or maintain their own cloud setup. By building on the proven infrastructure on AWS, Exacom delivers a recording service that minimizes operational overhead, simplifies compliance, and ensures agencies can focus on protecting their communities rather than managing servers.
