Gavin M. – Sanford Maine Regional Communications
Nominated By: Julianne O.
Nomination: I am honored to nominate Gavin for this award in recognition of his dual impact on our dispatch center: his unparalleled technical knowledge and his profound “lifting” effect on the morale and performance of our entire team. In an environment defined by high-stakes pressure, Gavin serves as both our primary resource and our most stabilizing force.
The 911 dispatch floor can be an arena of immense stress and secondary trauma. Gavin possesses a rare ability to elevate the room’s energy without saying a word. He leads through a “lifting” effect—a unique blend of composure and empathy that prevents burnout in those around him.
During Mass Casualty Incidents (MCIs) or high-frequency shifts, Gavin remains the “eye of the storm.” His calm demeanor is infectious, helping newer dispatchers maintain focus when seconds count. He doesn’t just process calls; he checks in on his colleagues after difficult patches, ensuring that the team remains mentally resilient and supported.
Beyond his temperament, Gavin is the definitive subject matter expert of our center. Whether the issue is a technical CAD glitch, a complex jurisdictional routing question, or a rare emergency protocol, Gavin is the first person everyone looks to for an answer. His deep understanding of our protocols and systems means that problems are solved before they can escalate into service delays. Gavin doesn’t hoard his expertise; he shares it. He is a natural mentor who can translate complex procedures into actionable steps, effectively raising the “floor” of our entire team’s competency.
Gavin is the backbone of this dispatch center. He provides the technical answers we need to do our jobs and the emotional strength we need to keep doing them well. He represents the very best of emergency services, and I can think of no one more deserving of this recognition.

Brooke B. – Spalding County Georgia E911
Nominated By: Laloni S.
Nomination: Brooke Bishop consistently goes above and beyond in her role as a trainer and senior dispatcher, setting the standard for professionalism, teamwork, and initiative. She not only invests in developing others through training and mentorship, but also takes the extra steps to boost morale—whether through thoughtful treats or small details that make a big difference in the center. Her willingness to step up, support her team, and create a positive work environment makes her truly deserving of recognition during National Telecommunicators Week.
Wednesday 4/15/2026 Winner
Taylor H. – Bartlett TN Police Department
Nominated By: Kelly C.
Nomination: I would like to nominate Taylor for recognition during Telecommunicator Week. Taylor consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism and composure, especially while handling high-priority and high-stress calls. No matter the situation, she remains calm, focused, and provides exceptional customer service to every caller she interacts with. Her ability to maintain control while still showing empathy truly reflects the standard we strive for in our center. In addition to her performance on the phones, Taylor brings a positive energy to the dispatch floor that cannot be overlooked. She has a natural ability to lighten the atmosphere with humor and laughter, which makes a lasting impact on team morale—especially during the most demanding shifts. Taylor has also served as a trainer for nearly three years and takes that responsibility seriously. She invests time and effort into developing new dispatchers, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and confident as they learn. She leads by example, reinforces expectations, and takes pride in helping shape the next generation of telecommunicators. Taylor is dependable, supportive of her team, and consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She embodies the qualities of a true professional and teammate. Our dispatch floor would not be the same without her, and she is more than deserving of this recognition.

Pattana “Eddie” T. – Bedford MA Police Department
Nominated By: Jeffrey V.
Nomination: Eddie came to us a couple of years ago, fresh out of the covid time period. He was previously working in the airline industry. He was born in Laos and came to Philadelphia as a child. He was a junior monk, living in the big city and English was not his first language. Life was difficult to say the least. He then moved with his family to Amish Country in the middle of Pennsylvania. He finished High School and became a volunteer firefighter. Then he embarked on an airline career that took hm all over the world. Eventually, he landed in Boston as a terminal manager for a major airline. During covid the airline made some changes, and he needed to find a new line of work. He went back to his public safety roots and found us in Bedford. He has been a standout dispatcher. He now holds the rank of ECO II and currently is a training officer for new dispatchers. He comes to work always positive, motivated and never strays away from the big call. I can’t think of a better person to be recognized for the effort they bring each and every day.
Friday 4/17/2026 Winner
Brianda D. – Riverside County CA Sheriff’s Department
Nominated By: Christina R.
Nomination: Brianda is a strong asset to our team and works diligently to provide high-quality service to our community members as well as to her coworkers. She listens to what is happening in the dispatch room and provides support. Often, when I am working a high priority incident, I do not have to ask for her assistance; she is there, staging medical, starting allied agencies to assist, getting air support, you name it, she is doing it. Not only that, but Brianda works to help out with supervision, despite not holding a supervisor title. She will not hesitate to take on additional responsibilities like listening in on hot calls and providing real-time information to the radio dispatcher when necessary.
